Ok so I was involved in a car accident November 10,12, I was at fault because I hit the car in the back, the guy just literally stopped and obviously even if you are right about saying that the other driver stopped too fast for you to stop,when you hit a car in the back (most of the time) you are at fault of the accident.Either way, my insurance paid for his damage ($2,000 worth) and I took my ticket to court,there I only paid for court fees but no points. Today, June 02,13 (almost 7 months after the accident) I get a letter from a lawyer( lawyer of the guy I hit in the previous accident) saying he is asking for a $10,000 on medical expenses,it says I should send the letter to my insurance company as soon as possible,which I will do tomorrow but my thing is, I don’t want my insurance rate to increase, it already increased after the accident (was $130, now $170) so I’m just asking, will the insurance company approve paying for his medical expenses even if he is self-employed as a driver of big trucks (I guess he also lift heavy furniture in order to work) and has diabetes ( he was ketotic at the time of the accident,the guy is in his 60s)?? And if the insurance approves paying ( guessing he has all the medical papers in order) will my rate increase too? Again?? I have full cover in my car, and it also includes medical bills. The guy who hit me does not have an ample amount of insurance to cover my injuries. They are offering me the policy limits to settle. I really think it is criminal for any insurance company or state to make the limits on auto insurance so low, when the average cost of an auto accident is higher than the minimum coverages that they allow drivers to driver under. Also, there are many attorneys that wont even look at taking a case unless the limits are much higher than state minimum, because they can make considerably more on those who are very well insured. My own insurance company is treating my like I am retarded, and I was until I started reading all the insurance laws and bought a very fine civil litigation book for 4 dollars, best investment I ever made. But I am no Pro Se expert, my hat is tipped to you attorneys and insurance adjusters. What a stressful job you have and so many laws to abide by and to follow. I am a 19 year old male university student in Ontario Canada. I live at home in the summer and only one hour from home during the school year for my studies. I would like to purchase my own car for everyday driving. However, I know that I would not be able to afford the ridiculous insurance there is for a male driver that is under 25 and listed as the primary driver. I have heard of ways to get around this, such as getting listed as a secondary driver and having my dad as the primary driver and just me as a temporary driver. Doing this is kind of lying, as I would be having the car all the time in the school year and then bring it home with me when I work at home. I don’t think it would matter though, I doubt it is risky that if I did need a claim they would investigate how much I had the car… But what my dad seems to think is that he can only have a certain amount of cars listed as him as primary. My mom and dad live together and together own a 1994 Intrepid, 2003 Cadillac CTS and a 1988 Corvette (that is insured for only 5 months a year, stored in the winter). I am only insured as a temporary driver on the Intrepid as it is too expensive for anything else. I also have a 21 year old sister who is in the same situation (lives at home for 4 months a year) but she has just bought her own car and is her own primary driver. So I don’t think that should affect me at all, it is cheap enough for a female to get primary insurance at this age. So now I want to buy a sports car. I am 100% sure I want to buy a car that is not common, its just something I am stubborn about and so I know that insurance will be more this way. Specifically I was looking at an Audi tt, BMW 300 series, Mitsubishi Eclipse or a Mustang… I also found a great deal on a ’99 Porsche Boxster that a seller has that is way underpriced and I’d love to buy it (first choice). My question is, can I claim that my dad is really the owner of the Porsche (or other car) and say that I am a temporary driver, and then have me drive it all the time and take it back and forth to school, etc, knowing my parents together already have 2 vehicles and 1 summer vehicle. I would take myself off of the temporary insurance on the Intrepid. My dad seems to think that an insurance company will not allow them to be primary drivers on 3 vehicles and 1 summer vehicle while having dependant children… But what if I did the insurance quotes online and got approved? I’m a 33 year old female. I had braces for 2 years (age 15-17). When I was 18 (or younger), my chiropractor told me I had TMJ Disorder. I have a small mouth/jaw; I only have 12 top teeth and 11 bottom teeth (missing one on the bottom). My wisdom teeth weren’t removed until I was around 25. The removal was extremely painful/traumatic. My teeth have become crooked again with a severe overjet over the years. My TMJ pain got much worse after my wisdom teeth were removed. In the past 3 years, my pain has become extreme: daily headaches, migraines, facial/neck/shoulder/eye/ear pain or discomfort. My jaw never feels like it’s at rest. I don’t even know what position my jaw/tongue/teeth should be in. My dentist gave me a night splint, I’ve done physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, heat, ice, purchased anything I’ve found that claims to help, all with no results. It’s affecting my work, home, sleep, social life. Being an adult with Blue Cross Insurance (in Canada) I have no orthodontic insurance at all. S2000 car for a teen?
I’m 16 living in California and I want an S2000 as a first car. I know that a teens first car shouldn’t be ANY rwd sports car but, I just don’t like fwd cars and how they feel. But, I am realistic and i understand a fwd car is necessary for a first time driver especially in terms of insurance, safety, and what not. My parent’s also don’t want me to get an old car because modern cars ARE safer. (Asian mentality: get the best, or get the worst) We teens cause a lot of crashes but, there are also really safe teen drivers. Basically, if you can convince me to get a fwd car, then I will get one in the future but, you have to counter at least one of my arguments: 1.) The S2000 is a flat-four with Honda reliability. Which means it is going to last for a long time. 2.) In the chance it does break down, the market for the S2000 is huge. So, it won’t be hard to find parts.(Not to mention my uncle is a mechanic.) 3.) With the engine being a flat-four, it also saves a decent amount of gas. 4.) The 4 cylinder engine is one of the simplest engine designs out there, so labor won’t be as expensive as fixing a v6 or Boxer engine. 5.) Of course a company isn’t going to make a sports car without giving it superior breaking power. But, the S2000 has good breaking power. 6.) Since it’s a 2 seater, you can’t take many friends with you. Which means, you will be able to focus on the road more easily than taking friends in a fwd sedan. Please respond quickly."

Am I the only one around here that thinks health insurance is completely backwards? Auto insurance is insurance you have if you have an accident or your car is stolen. It’s to cover big time expenses you can’t routinely deal with. It’s not for replacing the alternator or getting oil changes. Home Owner’s insurance is the same deal. You don’t have it pay to fix a leaky faucet. You have it pay if the home sustains major damage or burns down. Can you imagine how expensive either one of those would be if we expected it to cover routine costs? We’d be complaining we need Auto and homeowners insurance reform too. So why is Health insurance so different? Why not just make it for big ticket items like cancer, heart attacks, etc. and leave everything else for out of pocket? And once people started actually having to pay for their own routine medical costs, then we’d start seeing some actual reform of how health care is priced and delivered."

Right before the fire started, my girlfriend and I were smoking a cigarette in the back. One of the firemen was asking me questions, he even asked me if it’s possible that arson caused it. I said no. He also asked if I was smoking a cigarette, and of course I had to say yes. He was asking me questions on how I put out the cigarette, and I showed him. At that time we were just so grateful that that was all that happened. Things could have been a lot worse! I spoke to my tenant after the fire and she just asked me what happened. She was really nice about it, she wasn’t even upset. I asked her if the house was insured, and she said yes. Eight months later, I received a letter from her home insurance. It was a subrogation letter, and they’re asking me to pay for $5084.67!!! I responded to them in a letter and asked for a claims report and out-of-pocket expense receipt. They sent me a copy of the claims report, the fire department incident report (which I also got from my tenant), and another letter requesting me to just send them a check. They did not send an out-of-pocket expense receipt, probably because there was none! I spoke to my tenant, and again she was really nice about it. She said she was not aware that the insurance company was asking me to pay for any amount. She said she only received a check from them for $4,154.85. I asked her if she can give me a copy of the check and the claims report. She gave me a copy of the stub showing the amount she received from the insurance company. She did not have the claims report, but she had a copy of the incident report which she gave me as well. By the way, the incident report stated that it was accidental and unintentional. My question is, does the insurance company have the right to charge me the full amount of $5,084.67?!?! They’re even charging me for the appraisal fee! There’s still a balance of $321.82 from what their billing us and the check they gave to my tenant. Please help! I"
